As of September 14th, we're still planning on an in-person race with a flexible start from 9am to 10am. All participants do have the option, however, to transfer to the virtual race option. If you have any additional questions, contact us via the form at the bottom of the race page.
Join us for our 2nd annual 5k run/walk. Paws in the Park is one of Cascades Humane Society’s largest fundraisers of the year! Paws in the Park 2020 is on Saturday, September 19, 2020 and features a beautiful 5k run/walk through the charming Sparks Foundation Park (aka Cascades Falls Park). Leashed dogs are welcome to attend and participate in the event.
The race will feature an open start line from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. This will allow for social distancing and safe racing!
How does the open/flexible start line work? Start the race any time between 9:00 and 10:00 am. There will be no crowded mass start. Keep an eye on the start line and begin your race when it is free of other participants. No more than 5 people will start at a time. The start line will be wide, and the space is very open to allow for proper social distancing. You do not have to feel rushed to get to the starting line. Start your race when you are ready. Timing does not start until you cross the timing mats.
