Description

Get ready for the 2nd Annual Walk/Run For Hope Stamping Out Child Abuse 5K.  We will have special balloon tribute to those who have succumbed and survived child abuse,  We will warm up with Zuumba, and our first race will be the 1 mile for the kids, followed by the 5K. There will be healthy snacks and refreshments, and of course important messages about the Child Abuse epidemic. Come join us. 

We will walk/run from the Tabernacle of David parking lot, to Holmes Rd, to Waverly until we arrive at Sumpter and we will turn around and take same route back. Easy route, for a great cause.

The Facts About Child Abuse

  1. Every 10-13 seconds a child is abused
  2. 15 million children witness violence in the home annually.
  3. 1 out of 3 girls will be sexually abused before the age of 18.
  4. 1 out of 6 boys will be sexually abused before the age 18.
  5. Up to 5 children die each day because of child abuse and neglect.

The Route for the 5K will begin under the overpass of Tabernacle of David and proceed to Holmes Road. The route will continue from Holmes Road to Waverly Rd. The route will continue on Waverly to Sumpter street and then participants will turn around and take the same route back.
