5k Run/Walk
Join us for the Lansing Turkey Trot — an annual holiday tradition that draws more than 5,000 participants from across Michigan and beyond!
Start Time: 9:00 AM on Thanksgiving Morning
We’re keeping things easy and enjoyable with an open, flexible start line! You can begin your 5K run or walk anytime between 9:00 and 9:10 AM.
🏃♀️ Faster runners are encouraged to line up toward the front.
🚶 Walkers and families can start further back and move at their own pace.
✨ The start area is wide and relaxed — no need to rush!
Your timing starts when you cross the mats, so take your time, find your spot, and enjoy the start of this Lansing Thanksgiving morning tradition!

Entry Fee:
$30 until November 19th - Shirt is guaranteed
$35 November 20th to November 26th - Shirts available while supplies last
Family Discount: Register 3 or more people at the same time and save $3/person (10% discount). Valid only until November 19th, valid only for the in-person 5k run/walk event.
Be sure to preregister. There is no race day registration.
Virtual Lansing Turkey Trot: If you can't make the race and still want to participate sign up for the virtual race and we will mail out a shirt and bib to you! Run your virtual race any time from November 22 to November 30. Cost is $35 and includes shipping. There are no awards for the virtual event. Registration for the virtual event closes on November 19th. Packets will be mailed out by November 24th.
T-SHIRTS
DRI-POWER® Unisex Long-Sleeve 50/50 T-Shirt. Available in Youth and Adult sizes.
Shirts are VERY popular. Register no later than Wednesday, November 19th to be guaranteed your t-shirt.
No shows will forfeit their t-shirt, no exceptions.
COURSE
The start and finish are on Grand Ave outside the Gannon Building at Lansing Community College.
The 3.1 course takes you through Downtown Lansing passing the State Capitol Christmas Tree.
The course is scenic, fast and accurate!
Early Packet Pickup
Location: Playmakers store in the Community Center 2299 West Grand River Ave. Okemos, MI 48864.
Days/Times: Tuesday 11/25 and Wednesday 11/26 from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm (both days)
You are able to pick up packets for family and friends on their behalf. We encourage picking up your packet at Playmakers to avoid long lines on race day morning.
Race Day Packet Pickup
Race day packet pickup will begin at 7:30 am at Lansing Community College in the Gannon building, first floor.
Results
Your accurate chip time and current overall and age group place will be texted to your phone and live immediately after you finish the race.
Awards
Overall Awards: Medal and $50 Playmakers gift certificate to Male and Female: Overall, Master (Over 40), Grand Master (Over 50)
Age Group Awards: Medals to top 3 in age groups: 10 & under, 11-12 13-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85+
Awards will be available race day at the awards table starting at 9:45 am. The awards table will be outside located near the Finish.
Race Proceeds & Donations
The Lansing Turkey Trot is the largest fundraiser for the Michigan Running Foundation. Proceeds and donations from this event support youth running across the state of Michigan. Visit the donation page during registration to make a donation. Thank you for your support!
