The Old Town Commercial Association will host its 14th annual Scrooge Scramble 5K Run/Walk on the Lansing River Trail to benefit the Old Town Commercial Association on Dec. 3, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. This is a family friendly event and a great chance to get outdoors. All walkers and runners are welcome! Please no pets on the run - this is for our runners protection and the safety of our furry friends.
Giveaway Items Participants will receive finisher medals and I Love Old Town beanies. Guaranteed for runners that register before 10/30, then while supplies last.
Costume Contest Wearing your best holiday garb for the race is strongly encouraged! Show us your cheer as a Santa, Elf, Reindeer, Snowman or anything that shows your Holiday joy! Costumes will be evaluated at the start/finish line. You can enter the contest simply by showing up on Race Day in your costume and checking in at registration before the race. The Best Most Cheerfully Dressed will win a $50 gift certificate to Old Town businesses.
Packet pick up will be available on Friday, December 2 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Old Town Commercial Association office (1232 Turner Street) or on Race Day, Saturday, December 4 from 8:30 a.m.-9:30 a.m.
The race will be timed by Michigan Running Foundation.
Age divisions for timing purposes are as follows: Under 14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+. No placement medals or awards ceremony.
All proceeds benefit Old Town and the Old Town Commercial Association.
Design coming soon! Finisher medals will be available to all participants who register by 10/30, then medals will be available while supplies last.
This race is endorsed by The Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and part of the Michigan Fitness Foundation Challenge. The challenge encourages Michiganders to engage with events that promote physical activity, health and wellness. You will receive a FIT point for every endorsed event you participate in or volunteer for from January 1 until December 31st. Points earn cool swag and a chance to win various prizes!
