Description
Come to downtown Lansing on Sunday morning July 19th for the Summer Breeze 5k Run/Walk. The 5k course is accurate and scenic. We have a flexible start time from 9:00 to 10:00 am. This will allow ample social distancing at the start of the race, along the course, and at the finish line. The race is chipped timed with T-shirts, live results and awards.
We have a FULL stay safe race plan in place, see below for all the details.
The entry fee is only $20 until 7/14, $25 from 7/15 to 7/18, and $30 race day Register early for the discounted fee and to guarantee the cool Summer Breeze shirt! To encourage youth and families to run the race, the fee for participants 18 and under is only $10 ($15 after 7/14)!
Proceeds from the race go to support High School and Middle School Cross Country and Track programs, and Youth Running Clubs thru the Michigan Running Foundation grant program.
Stay Safe Race Procedures for 2020
Flexible start time: Start the race any time between 9am and 10am. There will be no crowded mass start. Keep an eye on the start line and begin your race when it is free of other participants. No more than 5 people will start at a time. The start line will be wide, and the space is very open to allow for proper social distancing. You do not have to feel rushed to get to the starting line. Start when you are ready and at your own pace.
Packet Pickup/Check-in area: The packet pickup/check-in area will be spaced out to allow ample room for social distancing. All race volunteers will be wearing a mask. We encourage participants to wear a mask when picking up their packet. Packet pick up will be held on race day July 19th, starting at 8 am until 9:45 am at the start/finish area and the end of Museum Drive.
Results: Your accurate chip time and current overall and age group place will be texted to your phone and live on this site. Please remember your overall and age group place will not be final until the last person has crossed the finish line at approximately 12pm.
Awards: Top 3 places in each age group receive a discount in to the Lansing Turkey Trot (Coupon emailed to you after the race). We will not have an award ceremony. Age Groups: 12 & under, 13-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+
Staff and Volunteers: All staff and volunteers will wear a face mask.
Participants: We encourage participants to wear a face mask while picking up their packet and at the start of the race.
Fluid Stations: We will provide bottled water at the finish of the race. There will be no fluid stations on the course. Bring your own water for the course.
Hand Sanitizer will be located in various areas near packet pickup
Parking information: Ample parking at Impressions 5 museum and the Lansing Center
