Description
Join us for the 12th Annual Port Oneida Run! ALL proceeds support National Park Partner Preserve Historic Sleeping Bear.
There is nothing like these courses. This is the only run that winds through the beautiful scenery of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore’s Port Oneida Rural Historic District – home of Pyramid Point, a favorite of residents and visitors – 3 miles north of Glen Arbor. With its historic farms and barns, Port Oneida is hailed as “one of the most prized historic landscapes in the country”! Afterwards, it is recommended you take a swim in some gorgeous beaches down Port Oneida Road.

COURSES - Races start and end at the farm's big red barn.
Kids Schoolhouse Dash - 1/4 mile round trip to the Port Oneida schoolhouse and back.
- This flat course goes east on the Heritage trail passing the Lawr Farm, Basch road, and turning around at Kelderhouse and Basch Road Strollers (this race only) are welcome!
- There is one hydration station/bathroom on this course at the intersection of the Heritage Trail and Basch Road. Runners will pace this location twice, as the race is an out and back.
- Beautiful loop combination of heritage trail, gravel roads, and pavement
- There are four hydration/aid stations on this course
- The corner of Basch Road and Heritage Trail (includes a Port-a-John!)
- Driveway of the Martin Basch Farm
- Intersection of Baker/Port Oneida Road
- Miller Barn (end of Miller Road).
- A loop combination of dirt/grass trail running, gravel trails and roads, and pavement.
- There are six hydration/aid stations on this course
- Bayview trailhead parking lot (runner's pass twice)
- Intersection of Thorson Road and Heritage Trail (low trail)
- The corner of Basch Road and Heritage Trail (includes a Port-a-John!)
- Driveway of the Martin Basch Farm
- Intersection of Baker/Port Oneida Road
- Miller Barn (end of Miller Road).

Animals - Animals are allowed in the farmyard, and on the Flat and Fast 5K, only. All pets must be on a leash.
We recommend all runners bring water, sun protection, and cellphones. While we do have volunteers stationed every two miles, we encourage thorough preparation for this course, as terrain and temperature vary. Expect shady old-growth forest, historic homes and yards, gravel and paved roads, and dirt trails.

Packet pick-up starts at 6:30 am the day of the race.
SHIRTS, MEDALS, PRIZES
All 5k, 10K, and 1/2 marathon runners registered will receive a run shirt if registered by July 15. Shirts will be available first-come, first-serve after that .Top 3 finishers in each age category and gender will receive a medal. All Half marathon participants will receive a finishers ribbon. Overall male and female awards will be awarded. All participants are eligible to win one of 6 raffle prizes including a horse and wagon tour or bike tour of Port Oneida. Kid's run participants receive a ribbon and cherry patches from Cherry Republic and the top 3 finishers get a prize from the national park store.

A National Park pass is required. Help keep the park free of invasive species! Please clean shoes of mud and debris, soil and seed, prior to coming to the race to prevent introduction of invasive plant material.
