Description

Kick up some dirt with us and celebrate running at The Dirty Herd World Run Day 5k and 10k Fun Run! Run a 5k or a 10k loop that winds through the beautiful trails of Pretty Lake Camp. After the race, stick around for some fun, food and festivities!

All proceeds from the race go to help support Pretty Lake Camp and with a small portion benefiting the Gazelle Sports Foundation.

The 10k fun run starts at 9 am, and the 5k fun run/walk starts at 9:10 am. Please arrive early as we will start the run promptly. There is limited parking space, so if possible try to carpool to Pretty Lake Camp.

Love Pretty Lake Camp, but can't join us November 5?

Join us for a "virtual run" anywhere, anytime! You can support Pretty Lake Camp from wherever you are in the world- your registration fee will still benefit a great cause, and you get to run a 5k or 10k on your own trail!

Pretty Lake. Beautiful Mission.

Since 1916, Pretty Lake Camp, a non-profit community organization, has provided a cost-free summer camp experience to over 50,000 at-risk youth from Kalamazoo County. Throughout the years, we have enriched the lives of thousands of youth by offering a safe, structured and encouraging environment in a natural setting. We accommodate over 800 children each summer.

Many of the children who attend Pretty Lake Camp face significant challenges at home, in school, and in their community. We strive to remove all barriers that prevent a child from being able to come to camp.

Through the financial support of generous individuals and organizations, we provide everything that campers need during their session at camp – clothes, toiletries, bedding, towels, food, transportation to and from camp, and activities – at no cost to the camper or their family or caregiver. Our focus is to assist in the development of campers by teaching life skills and helping campers cope with life’s challenges.

Our Mission
Pretty Lake’s mission is to provide adventure education and outdoor experiences that change lives and improve the community. We do this by:

  • Providing a free summer camp for the youth most likely to benefit from the opportunity
  • Offering a wide range of customized adventure experiences for youth and adults
  • Promoting opportunities to experience, appreciate and steward our environment
  • Making our unique natural environment and facilities available for the community to experience and enjoy
Packet Pick Up

There will be packet pick up at Gazelle Sports Kalamazoo on Friday, November 3rd from 4 to 7pm. If you are unable to pick up your packet at that time, you can also pick up your packet before the run at Pretty Lake Camp Sunday morning beginning at 8am.
