Description
The Negaunee Lions Club 3rd Annual Teal Lake Paddle will be held July 1 & 2, 2016 on beautiful Teal Lake. We are offering events that cater to all levels of paddling abilities and an opportunity for everyone with kayaks, canoes and paddle boards to come together to spend time on a beautiful lake and help us raise money for youth programs. Friday night will feature 2 hours of demo's, introduction and instruction to those participants that want to learn more about the sport and then Saturday will be a whole day of paddling events. Teal Lake is a pristine jewel nestled in Negaunee, Michigan that offers a unique opportunity to explore its shoreline, bays and rocky cliffs. In addition the ease of access makes it a perfect location that can be visited again and again. Participants can register online and late registrations may be made in person on the morning of the event. The Negaunee Lions Club was chartered in 1955 and currently has about 45 members. Over the years the club has raised funds to support many local causes and individuals, as well as needs at the state, national and international level. Our dedicated group of volunteer members also give their time and talent to a long list of civic projects in the community throughout the year, including manning aide stations at the Noquemanon Ski Race, Ore to Shore Mountain Bike Race, manning road crossings for the Polar Roll, staging highway clean-ups, building improvements at Bay Cliff Health Camp, and hosting the Lions Girls Invitational Track Meet, among many other events...we recently held our 48th Annual Pancake Breakfast and in August we will host our 15th Annual Pasta feed in conjunction with the Ore to Shore Mountain Bike Race.
