Description
In celebration of the Autumn Classic Weekend, join Team Playmakers for an informal run/walk, with a starting window of 8:00-8:30am on Saturday, September 26th. The informal session on September 26 is only open to members of Team Playmakers.
In order to accommodate social distancing regulations, there will be 2 locations for the September 26th Informal Training session: Lansing Brewing Company and Central Park at the Meridian Township offices. Each location will have an 8K course and a 2 mile course available and will be capped at 100 participants per site.
Registration is required.
Note about Start/Finish Time:
The courses will be open from 8:00 - 10:30am. Suggested start time is between 8:00 - 8:30am. Courses will close at 10:30am.
Participant Expectations/Advisements
We will be following all local and state requirements for group activities for this event. As adopted from RRCA and CARA guidelines:
- Do not participate if you are feeling sick or ill, and or have a fever, or if you have been in contact with someone unrecovered from COVID-19.
- Persons from high-risk groups for COVID-19 complications should consult with their physician before participating.
- Do not engage in traditional forms of physical contact (handshakes, high-fives, hugs, partner stretching, etc.)
- Do not engage in close group pictures/selfies. Always maintain social distance guidelines.
- Don’t spit or “nose rocket” your nose in public - bring along tissues or a small towel or a handkerchief if you need to get rid of some snot during your run/walk. If you must spit, do so away from people and areas that will have foot traffic.
- Do not share personal items, such as hydration, energy gels, towels, etc.
- Masks or face covers are required anytime persons cannot maintain social distance, and where local guidelines require.
- Participants should self carry personal hydration (bottles/packs), and use hydration stations or fountains for refill only.
- Participants whose actions do not meet expectations, and/or are creating risk for themselves or others, will be required to exit the group temporarily or permanently.
Routes
Two Locations:
Lansing Brewing Company (518 E Shiawassee St, Lansing, MI 48912)- limit 100 participants
The LBC course will be on the River Trail to Potter Park, out and back. Parking available at Lansing Brewing Company.
Central Park at the Meridian Township Offices (5151 Marsh Road, Okemos, MI) - limit 100 participants
The Central Park course will start and finish next to the pavilion at Central Park at the Meridian Township. From there the 8K route is along Central Park Drive >> Okemos Road >> Inter Urban trail >> Marsh Rd >> Neomoke Trail >> onto park path >> into Nancy Moore Park >> through parking lot >> Gaylord C Smith Drive >> onto park path south >> Central Park Drive >> to finish.
