The Burnin’ Rubber 5K Run and Walk is back!

This thrilling event returns to Owosso Speedway on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, with the green flag waving at 7:00 PM. This year’s race has moved to July to better align with the NASCAR schedule, making it even easier for racing fans to join the action.

Take on a newly upgraded, lightning-fast flat course that starts and finishes right on the speedway itself. Experience the rare opportunity to compete alongside NASCAR star Erik Jones, a Byron native—turning this into more than just a race, but a truly unforgettable experience.

As you cross the finish line and receive the checkered flag, you’ll be awarded a specially designed finisher medal to commemorate your achievement. New this year, age group awards will be presented to the top three finishers in each run division for both running and walking categories.

Families are encouraged to join the fun—kids aged 12 and under can participate in the 5K for free (with adult supervision required). There will also be a Kids Run featuring one exciting lap around the Owosso Speedway track!

Proceeds from the race will benefit the Erik Jones Foundation, and with professional timing and results, every second counts. Don’t miss this electrifying evening of speed, community, and giving back!
