Description

Let’s run another 5K!! Potterville’s Gizzard Fest is host to a closed course and fun filled 5K.  It’s a 5K unlike any other!!

It's the 4th Annual Clucking Race!! yippeee! We are going along with the Gizzard Fest theme: Under the Sea.

Just wait until you see the awesome swag we will have for our participants!! Shirts, finishers medals, and more!!

The one and only, Chuck Block from the Michigan Running Foundation, will be our timing official!!

This year we are partnering with a very special charity: Canines For Change!

We just love giving back to our community and what better way than to do so with this amazing organization? Canines For Change trains some amazing dogs: Where highly trained service and facility dogs enhance the lives of children, adults, and community members. There are a number of area schools and veterans who benefit from these incredible dogs.

This will be a dog friendly course. All of our four legged participants will receive a special finishers medal. (We just ask that they don't leave any brown "presents" on the course!) All dogs must be short leashed (that means no retractable leashes, please.)

There will be plenty of fun. Stick around after the race for a pancake breakfast. The beer tent will be open in time to rehydrate and enjoy the entertainment. There will also be vendors with crafts and more, a dunk tank, a silent auction, an auto show, and a bunch of carnival rides.

What a great way to start a FUN filled day...with a 3.1 mile run!

Charity Partner

We love giving back to our community! We love our 4 legged friends! We decided to combine our loves and partner with the one and only Canines For Change!

This is a local organization based out of the Grand Ledge Area and has been providing service dogs to our community and veterans. A percentage of funds brought in through registrations will be donated to Canines for Change. These funds will help them continue with their mission.

Their mission statement : Canines for Change provides highly trained service and facility dogs that enhance the lives of children and adults with disabilities by empowering them to achieve active and independent lifestyles while also educating the community on the benefits of facility and service dogs through community education and outreach.

Participants will have a chance to meet some of the trainers and dogs at the race. We are hoping to have some of the new puppies there as well.

Donations can be made to this incredible organization through the donation tab as well as directly to them at the race and packet pick up.
