Join MNA on a beautiful Saturday for our Rattlesnake Run 5K Run/Walk! Enjoy the summer colors and run, jog, or walk along the Paint Creek Trail located in Rochester in north Oakland County! This 5K will promote efforts to preserve habitat for the eastern massasauga rattlesnake, a threatened species in Michigan. Participants will receive a commemorative Rattlesnake Run T-shirt and a finisher medal.

Virtual race participant packets will be mailed. *Due to COVID-19 and the Governor's Stay Home Stay Safe order, vendors for packet materials may not be operating, or operating at full capacity. We are unable to provide an approximate date for when packet materials will be mailed, but would like to assure you that they will be mailed as soon as possible. The Michigan Nature Association is hosting the Race for Michigan Nature, a statewide series of Family Fun Runs & 5Ks stretching from Belle Isle in Detroit to Marquette in the U.P. Each race spotlights one of Michigan's rarest species and helps promote the importance of protecting Michigan’s remaining natural areas. Take the challenge and run all six! Sign up using the 5 race series bundle under the Events section and save $5 per event.
This race is endorsed by The Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and part of the 2020 Michigan Fitness Foundation Challenge. The challenge encourages Michiganders to engage with events that promote physical activity, health and wellness. You will receive a FIT point for every endorsed event you participate in or volunteer for from January 1, 2020 until December 31st, 2020. Points earn cool swag and a chance to win various prizes! In case of inclement weather, watch for updates on our Facebook event page about weather updates, delays, new start times, and more. We plan to hold the races rain or shine unless the conditions are unsafe. If thunder or lightning is present, we will delay for 30 minutes. We will delay the race for up to 1 hour and will determine whether the race will be canceled entirely. There is no rain date or refund for the races, but participants will still receive their race t-shirt, finisher medal, race packet including a drawstring bag, and a complimentary membership to the Michigan Nature Association.
