Description
Ryder Knechtle is a happy and active 3-year-old who adores his two older brothers, loves superheros, playing in his creek, and being chased by his new puppy, Sadie Mae. He is cherished by his parents, Jenna and Toby, and is loved by all who know him. On most days, you will find Ryder happily dressed as Captain America saving the world from bad guys.
This July, the Knechtle Family received news that no family should ever have to hear. After noticing some changes in Ryder's vision, it was discovered that he has a brain tumor located on his brain stem. Sadly, this cancerous tumor is terminal, and Ryder's family will be focused on enjoying each day with their little ray of sunshine. Ryder's family is hopeful that they will be able to have months to a year to continue to spend time with Ryder as they battle the worst bad guy of all.
Join Team Ryder in a VIRTUAL RUN to support The ChadTough Foundation! You can run whenever, wherever, however you want ... or not at all (we won't tell)!
Register by September 4 to guarantee a shirt. For registrations received by September 4, we will make every attempt to get your packet to you before the official event day of Sept 26, but it cannot be guaranteed.
All proceeds will go to The ChadTough Foundation, whose mission is to inspire and fund game-changing research to discover effective treatments for pediatric brain cancer, with an emphasis on Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG).
Did you know?
- Cancer is the number one disease killer of children in America.
- Brain tumors are the leading cause of cancer-related death in children.
- DIPG is responsible for 15% of ALL pediatric cancer deaths each year.
- ONLY roughly 4% of the taxpayer-funded National Cancer Institute’s (NCI) annual budget is directed toward pediatric cancer (not brain cancer but ALL pediatric cancer).
