5k & Obstacle FLASHOVER FIRE RUN

5k to benefit Dominic Devereaux Sept 14 2013 @9:00am. Registration @7am.
David Devereaux is a firefighter with Clinton Area Fire and Rescue in St.Johns. Since joining the fire department in 2009, Daves motto has always been " Help those in need no matter what it takes". On Feb. 12,2012. Dave and his fiance had their son Dominic Devereaux who was born with Hydrocephalus and has had 5 surgeries to place and revise the placement of his shunt. Since the placement of his shunt he has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy and peri-ventricular leukomalacia. Dominic continues to make great strides and has overcome many obstacles the doctors have said he would never be able to do. With the surgeries and numerous visits to specialist David and Rachel having incurred over $15,000 dollars in medical bills which were not covered by insurance. This does not include gas to from Grand Rapids Detroit and Ann Arbor to the many different specialist and appointments. This 5k is being held to help Dave and Rachel past medical bills vehicle maintenance and gas to and from the doctors appointment. Prizes will be awarded for placing in each category.
