Run Your Race Virtual Block Party 5K
Event Description
Join us Saturday, October 24, 2026 for the Neighborhood Block Party 5K, a family-friendly run/walk through Farmstead Park and the Clinton River Park trails in Sterling Heights.
This event is for runners, walkers, families, strollers, first-time 5K participants, and anyone who wants to enjoy a fall morning while supporting something good in the community.
This year’s race includes three ways to participate:
Block Party 5K
Run or walk the in-person 5K course on race morning. This is the main timed event and includes a race bib, marked course, volunteer support, water station, post-race refreshments, and award eligibility.
Bramley’s 100M Kids Dash
A short, fun run for kids ages 10 and under before the 5K begins. This is not a timed race. It is a chance for kids to run, smile, cross the finish line, and be cheered on by the crowd.
Run Your Race Virtual Block Party 5K
Can’t make it on race day? Complete your own 5K on a different day and a course of your choosing. Virtual participants may submit their result online, but virtual results are separate from in-person race awards.
Donation-based registration
This year, instead of charging one fixed race fee, we are using a donation-based registration model.
A minimum donation of $5 reserves your spot in the 5K or Virtual 5K. Give what works for you. If you are able to give more, your extra generosity helps cover race costs and supports Riverwood’s free Neighborhood Block Party on Halloween night.
If this donation is a barrier, please reach out to us. We will gladly waive the cost. Participation is more valuable than registration fees, and we do not want cost to keep anyone from joining us
To keep the event affordable and make sure donations go toward the race and Block Party, there will not be a shirt, hat, or swag item this year

What is included
Your registration includes:
- A timed 5K run/walk
- A race bib
- A marked course with volunteers at key turns
- Midpoint water station
- Post-race refreshments
- Eligibility for awards and special recognitions
- A fun, welcoming community race experience
To keep the event affordable and make sure donations go toward the race and Block Party, there will not be a shirt, hat, or swag item this year.

The 5K course begins and ends near Riverwood Church and follows mostly paved paths through Farmstead Park and the Clinton River Park trails. The route is welcoming for runners, walkers, families, and strollers.

The Block Party is offered free to the community and includes a Trick-or-Treat Trail, candy stations, food, inflatables, music, and family-friendly activities. Hundreds of local families attend each year
