Block Party 5K
Run Your Own Route Block Party 5K
Event Description
Neighborhood Block Party 5K Run/Walk
Join us for the Neighborhood Block Party 5K, a family-friendly run/walk through Farmstead Park and the Clinton River Trail in Sterling Heights.
This event is for runners, walkers, families, strollers, first-timers, and anyone who wants to enjoy a fall morning while supporting something good in the community.
The 5K helps support Riverwood’s Annual Neighborhood Block Party on Halloween night, a free community event with candy, food, activities, music, and a welcoming place for local families.
Donation-based registration
This year, instead of charging one fixed race price, we are inviting participants to pay what they can.
A minimum donation of $5 is required to reserve your spot. Any donation of $5 or more covers your registration.
Why the minimum? It gives each registration a small level of commitment so we can plan responsibly for timing, course support, water, refreshments, volunteers, and supplies.
Give what works for you. If you are able to give more, your generosity helps cover race costs and supports the free Neighborhood Block Party on October 31.
What is included
Your registration includes:
- A timed 5K run/walk
- A race bib
- A marked course with volunteers at key turns
- Midpoint water station
- Post-race refreshments
- Eligibility for awards and special recognitions
- A fun, welcoming community race experience
To keep the event affordable and make sure donations go toward the race and Block Party, there will not be a shirt, hat, or swag item this year.
