2017 - 5K Patriots Race At White Chapel Memorial Park Cemetery To Benefit Michigan Veterans & Includes

2nd Annual 2017 5K Patriots Race at White Chapel Memorial Park Cemetery. The event will once again benefilt the Michigan Veterans. The race and following activities will take place on Sunday, September 10, 2017. Race proceeds will benefit the Michigan Wounded and Returning Warriors Project.

All events will take place within White Chapel's beautifully landscaped 210 acre private property and the race will run through its American flag-lined road-ways. Race experts believe the White Chapel Patriots Race 5K course may be the flattest, straightest and fastest in Southeast Michigan. In addition to the timed 5K run, the race schedule will include a timed 5K run/walk and a non competitive (untimed) 1 mile run/walk.
There will be activities for the young and old. Post race food will be offered to the athletes in the packet pick up area.

The Michigan Wounded & Returning Warriors Project (MW&RWP) is a 501(C)3 and a part of the Michigan American Legion family of organizations serving and supporting veterans. MW&RWP runs several successful programs including -
- Returning veteran re-integration family retreats in Northern Michigan
- PTSD and Eco-Therapy Retreats in partnership with therapists from
the Michigan Psychological Association Foundation
- PTSD community educational presentations
- Emergency temporary financial assistance
- Home accessibility modification assistance
- Disability claims assistance and guidance
- Adaptive services provider, clinic and network guidance
