Description

Join us for the 3rd Annual Alleluia 5k Worship!
2nd Sunday of Easter
April 7, 2024

We’re on the move again! This year, we will have an 8:30 am worship service with Holy Communion.

In lieu of our regular second service, Bethel is partnering with St. Peter’s for another moving worship. This year, the 5k route will have us carry the joy of the resurrection through the neighborhoods between Bethel and Viking Terrace. We will formally begin at Bethel at 10 am with scripture, song, and prayer. Walk or run, or be guided in gentle movement indoors!  Congregational Life is also looking for course marshals to direct the major turns. The service concludes at Bethel at 11 a.m. A fish taco fellowship (with lots of other options!) will follow.

Registration is free; the free-will offering will benefit the Viking Terrace funds that help keep this important affordable housing secure for our community. If you would like your donation to be reflect on your yearly giving statement, donate through your home church’s website and designate this as “Fun Run/Viking Terrace”, or bring a check (made out to your home congregation) with “Fun Run/Viking Terrace” in the notation.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE 5K FUN RUN/WALK
What if I don't want to run/walk?
No problem, you can still participate in worship! Enjoy the opening worship at Bethel, then join in the gentle movement option in the sanctuary and cheer on finishers. The concluding worship will be at 11 am. You could also come to Bethel at 11 and stay for fish taco fellowship. The world is your oyster.

What if I get tired and need a hitch back to Bethel?
We hope to have a "sweeper" vehicle playing caboose for the run/walk. Flag them down if you need to catch a ride back to Bethel.

I'm not a fish fan, what can I eat?
Chicken fritter tacos, gluten-free fish tacos and a vegetarian taco option will also be available!

What happens if it rains?
In case of snow or ice, thunderstorms or lightning, everyone can join in the indoor gentle movement option.
