The event will support two great causes working to make a difference against nearly impossible odds:
- St. Dom's Youth Mission Trip - A group of 55 youth and chaperones from the Church of St. Dominic will travel to and serve the people of the Blackfeet Nation in Montana this summer. Because of the reservation’s isolated location, residents have suffered high unemployment and extreme poverty. The cost for the trip is $750/person or more than $40,000 for the group.
- Team Jill's fundraiser for Project Purple, which funds pancreatic cancer research and hardship grants for people fighting the disease. With a 5-year survival rate of about 10%, pancreatic cancer is one of the deadliest forms of cancer. Despite its mortality rate, pancreatic cancer receives only 5% of funds allocated by the government for cancer research.
