Description

The 19th Annual HAWK CREEK RUN 5K, one of the Glacial Lakes Series Bonus Races, will start out the day's events for the Raymond Harvest Festival on Saturday, 8/24/18 at 8 a.m. The Start/Finish (on pavement) is at MACCRAY East Elementary School. The majority of the course feels like a x-c/trail run as it winds around Hawk Creek CC and through Raymond's scenic nature trail, primarily on grass & gravel. The Mile Run, free to all 5K registrants, also winds near the same golf course, and will begin at approximately 9 a.m., at the conclusion of the 5K. Runners ages 14 and under will automatically be given a $5 discount as they register.  Due to the relatively small amount of pavement, the race directors were informed that these courses (still the same routes as in earlier years) are no longer able to be USATF certified.

Courses

The Start/Finish Line is at MACCRAY East Elementary School. The 5K (USA Track & Field Nationally Certified - #MN-02019-RR) is a combination grass/gravel/trail/pavement course that winds around Hawk Creek Country Club (HCCC) and through Raymond’s scenic nature trail. The mile course also runs near the HCCC. There will be refreshments and fruit at the finish line and a water station near the 2 mile mark.

*Due to weather problems in 2017, a Route B (still primarily unpaved) was planned. A Route C is now also mapped out. It is not as scenic, and is mostly paved, but it will help the directors to avoid cancelling the race due to “swampy” circumstances.

Raymond Harvest Festival

***Runners will receive a coupon to golf the course they have just Run Around (2 green fees for the price of one)

**Raymond's Harvest Festival will have many fun activities taking place that day, so you may want to plan to stay awhile... in the town that “Everybody Loves…”
