Description

Our Purpose: The Urban Wildland Half Marathon & 5K began in 2003 to save Wood Lake Nature Center's environmental education partnership with the Richfield Public Schools, which was in jeopardy due to cuts in local government aid.  Since Wood Lake Nature Center's opening in 1971, Richfield's K-6 students had visited Wood Lake multiple times a year as part of their science curriculum. Thanks to the Urban Wildland, the program was spared and has continued every year with the proceeds from this event.

Registration for the 2023 Urban Wildland Half Marathon & 5K

Runners may register right up until chip/bib pickup, but must register themselves. Pickup staff will not be equipped to process registrations.

In an effort to keep our race green and reduce waste, we have created registrations to allow registrants to opt out of receiving a finisher's race shirt. Cut off date to register for a race with a finisher race shirt included is July 14, 2023. If a participant registers after this date, race shirts may be available for purchase for $10 at the finish line area as product is available. All race shirts not picked up on race day become property of Urban Wildland Half Marathon and 5K.
