Race Schedule

1:00 pm - Race Check In & Day of Registration Opens near the warming house pavilion
2:00 pm - Race Start!
2:40 pm - Awards (time subject to change)

Packet Pickup:

Pre-race day packet pickup is TBD; expect it to be one night the week before the race. We will have a day-of packet pickup starting at 1PM. This will include your bib number, timing chip, and any event swag.

Aid Stations:

There will be no aid stations. This is a self supported race meaning you will need to bring your own water and nutrition with you. Again thank you for being considerate and picking up any trash you leave on the trail.

Timing and Results:

The Frugal Frolic is a gun timed race using chips to record finish times not starting times. Each runner is required to wear a race bib. Please keep your race bib visible at all times especially as you cross through the finish line. Timing works on a group start rather than a rolling start. We will keep the official race time. Faster runners should start closer towards the start line while walkers start near the back of the flagged corral. This helps prevent bottlenecking and frustration as everyone settles into their own race pace. While on the race path, please be considerate of other racers by stating when you are passing and kindly moving to the right if your pace slows.

Results will be posted on our Runsignup page. We will have QR codes to scan for you to check your results as soon as you cross the finish line.

Awards and Prizes:

We will award overall male and female 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.

Race Rules and Guidelines:

The trail is open to the public, so please be kind to pedestrians. Keep your pets at home; the trail can get crowded. Your bib must be visible at all times. Be mindful at the crosswalk; we are not allowed to close roads to traffic, but do have a volunteer out there watching for traffic.

Post-Race Celebration:

The post race celebration will start as soon as the runner crosses the finish line. Runners will cross the finish line to music and light snacks.

Spectator Information:

The best one is at the starting and finishing line in Colby Lake Park. If you are quick you could make it down to Edgewater park on the south end of Colby Lake.

Safety Precautions:

We will try to have volunteers at all major turning points and road crossings. Roads will be open, so be mindful of cars. The path is open to the public; be courteous to pedestrians. Bikes, scooters, or wheeled form of transportation are not allowed to race the event, unless you are pushing a stroller in the back.

Volunteers Needed:

If you volunteer at a race you can get one free entry to a race of your choice that can be used within one year.  We are always in need of volunteers for our races as we literally cannot run them without you! Send us an email at hello@athenaclydesdaleracing.com to let us know you would like to volunteer with us.

Weather / Cancellation

Athena Clydesdale Racing and its race directors reserve the right to cancel or delay the event in case of inclement weather. There are no refunds.
