Description

Kick off your Independence Day festivities with a spirited 4-mile run that sets off the fireworks early! The course takes you on a scenic journey along a paved trail in a lollipop-style race, commencing at Colby Lake Park. Traverse north through the picturesque Wilms Lake rollers, conquer a challenging hill around Summit Pointe Park, and make a triumphant return under the tunnel to Colby Lake Park for an energetic finish line reception. Following the run, it's time to head home to join your family for a delightful day of grilling, swimming, and, of course, enjoying the spectacular fireworks display. Start your Fourth of July with a burst of energy and celebrate the day with a memorable run and festive family activities!

We are a cashless race, if you plan to sign up day of registration is still online. You will need your credit card and cell phone.

Registration Information:

Register on this Runsignup page. Prices will increase on the following dates: 2/5/2024, 6/16/2024, and on race day 7/4/2024. Don't miss out on the cheapest price. 

Location and Parking:

The 4 on the Fourth starts and finishes at Colby Lake Park: 9715 Valley Creek Rd, Woodbury, MN 55125.

There are two parking lots at the park: one right as you turn in from Valley Creek and a second behind the ice rink. You can park in either lot. If those lots are full, you are welcome to park at Valley Crossing Elementary School off of Woodbury Drive: 9900 Park Crossing, Woodbury, MN. 55125. Take your second Left into the parking lot of Valley Crossing School bus parking lot. The start line would be a very short walk from these lots.

Packet Pickup:

Pre-race day packet pickup is TBD; expect it to be one night the week before the race. We will have a day-of packet pickup starting at 7 AM. This will include your bib number, timing chip, and any event swag.

Race Schedule 

7:00am - Packet pick up and race day registration opens

8:00am - Race starts!

8:45am - Awards (subject to change)

Aid Stations:

There will be no aid stations. This is a self supported race meaning you will need to bring your own water and nutrition with you. Again thank you for being considerate and picking up any trash you leave on the trail.

Timing and Results:

Timing will be Gun time, using chips on the back of your bibs. It is very important you wear your bibs pinned to your shirt or shorts. Results will be posted on our Runsignup page. We will have QR codes to scan for you to check your results as soon as you cross the finish line.

Awards and Prizes:

We will award overall male and female 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. 

Race Rules and Guidelines:

The trail is open to the public, so please be kind to pedestrians. Keep your pets at home; the trail can get crowded. Your bib must be visible at all times. Be mindful at the crosswalk; we are not allowed to close roads to traffic, but do have a volunteer out there watching for traffic.

Post-Race Celebration:

The post race celebration will start as soon as the runner crosses the finish line. Runners will cross the finish line to music, light snacks. The awards ceremony will start at 8:45am, with the time subject to change.

Spectator Information:

The best one is at the starting and finishing line in Colby Lake Park. If you are quick you could make it down to Edgewater park on the south end of Colby Lake. 

Safety Precautions:

We will try to have volunteers at all major turning points and road crossings. Roads will be open, so be mindful of cars. The path is open to the public; be courteous to pedestrians.

Volunteers Needed:

If you volunteer at a race you can get one free entry to a race of your choice that can be used within one year.  We are always in need of volunteers for our races as we literally cannot run them without you! Weather / Cancellation

Athena Clydesdale Racing and its race directors reserve the right to cancel or delay the event in case of inclement weather. There are no refunds.
