Legacy of Patriots 2nd Annual Miles of Memories Virtual 5k

In December of 2021, Captain Andrew Allman was suddenly and abruptly diagnosed with stage four gastric adenocarcinoma, a cancer attributed to his exposure to burn pits from his deployment to Baghdad, Iraq eleven years prior. Andrew valiantly fought this aggressive cancer for seven months. Unfortunately, on Father’s Day, June 19 of 2022, he passed away, leaving behind his wife of almost fourteen years, Sarah, and their three school-aged children. Despite the aggressiveness of the cancer and the harsh side effects of the chemotherapy, Andrew resolved to fight with everything he had. At the time of his diagnosis, he was bedridden, but perseverance and determination allowed him to regain some strength and he was able to go on walks during his "rally-period." At one point, he managed to walk three miles in one day with Sarah by his side. His drive to overcome the obstacles he faced are the inspiration behind this 5k.  

Please join Legacy of Patriots for our second annual walk/run 5k. This year the 5k will be exclusively virtual due to our recent relocation!

What is a virtual 5k anyway?? A virtual 5k simply means that once you register, you can complete your 5k wherever you want, with whomever you choose, whenever you like! You do not need to submit your time, but we do ask that you submit a photo of you and/or your group with your event t-shirts on between July 4th through July 11th. (We are going to do our best to make sure everyone who registers prior to June 13th receives their t-shirt by July 4th.) If you submit your photo to info@legacyofpatriots.org between July 4th-11th, there is a chance you will win one of our three incentive categories!

What are the categories, you ask?

Category ONE: Most Patriotic (13 years and older) 

Category TWO: Most Patriotic Youth (12 years and under)

Category THREE: Farthest Geographic Location from our Headquarters in Missouri 

Please note: When emailing us your photo, please be sure to include which category you are entering. If you are entering the furthest geographic location category, please be sure to let us know where you completed the 5k. 

Please register by June 13, 2024 in order to guarantee your event t-shirt. (Event t-shirts cannot be guaranteed for any registrations completed after June 13th - thank you for understanding.) T-shirts for the event will be mailed out on June 28th.
