The Buddy Poppy 5K will start at the Independence Square at the War Memorial, heading to the Truman Library, and passing other historical site of Independence Missouri. The Run will finish back on the square.

History of the Buddy Poppy
VFW Buddy Poppy was first assembled by disabled and needy verterans in 1923. They were paid to provide them with financial assistance, this continues today thru our V.A. hospitals. The proceeds of Buddy Poppy sales and contributions provides financial assistance in maintaining state and national veterans rehabilitation and service programs and partially supports the VFW National Home for Children.
