The City of Independence Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Department and official partner Centerpoint Medical Center are excited to present the annual Truman Trot 5K on May 1, 2022.
After canceling the event in 2020 and going virtual in 2021, the Truman Trot (formerly Park Trot) returns to Waterfall Park in person in 2022.
In keeping with past years, the Truman Trot is presented free of cost, courtesy of the City of Independence and our community sponsors, HCA Midwest Health Centerpoint Medical Center, Bass Pro Shops, Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and CBIZ.

Packet Pick-Up
Packet pick-up will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022, at Centerpoint Medical Center (19600 East 39th St S, Independence, MO 64057) from 4-7 pm.

Volunteer
The City of Independence is looking for 50 volunteers to help at our Truman Trot 5K Run/Walk. Positions needed include, but are not limited to, course monitors, packet pick-up helpers, t-shirt pick-up helpers, same-day registration workers, and many others. Volunteers will be assigned to positions the morning of the event by the Volunteer Coordinator, Chase Carper. If you would like to volunteer but have any mobility limitations that could affect your volunteer duties or are under the age of 18, please contact Chase Carper, at ccarper@indepmo.org. We look forward to working with you all.

Awards will be provided in the following categories:
- Top Overall Male and Female
- Top Masters Male and Female Finisher
- Top Three Male and Female Age Groups: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over.
