Just 25 minutes from downtown, our scenic 10 acre farm serves as the canvas for the youth to learn a variety of skills, earn a paycheck, produce an abundance of food for the KC community and just as importantly a place where the youth find a home away from home. In this haven away from the stresses of every day life, our boys gain the skills to produce their own healthy food, and the confident business skills necessary to produce a one-of-a-kind culinary class product to leave their legacy on the BoysGrow farm.
The youth commit to work for the program for 2 years. They work 3 days a week during the summer and once/twice a month during the school year.
This is not a residential program. The youth live at home and only work on the farm.
The youth get paid for their time on the farm. We bus the boys in from Downtown KC to the farm in South KCMO, just 25 minutes away.
The youth apply for the program through an application process.
We recruit the youth from local charter or public schools, community centers or word of mouth.
