About the KC Temple Run
Established in 2011, the KC Temple Run is an annual 5K run made successful by its more than 2000 participants each year. Truckloads of food and thousands of hygiene and cleaning items have been donated by KC Temple Run attendees to various local charitable organizations including Valor Ranch (2019), Amethyst Place (2021), and Della Lamb (2022). This year, the KC Temple Run is partnering with Hillcrest Platte County, a local organization dedicated to offering support to homeless or insecurely housed individuals and families. Their program helps transition the homeless to be self-sufficient by addressing the total life situation of those families in need. In exchange for help, those in the program are required to find full-time employment, follow all program guidelines, and attend weekly classes that will help them become self-reliant.
Members of the community look forward to this free event each spring. Running clubs, families of all ages, or simply those wanting to make a healthy choice and support a local charity find the KC Temple run to be a wonderful experience.
