Description
The Kevin Gray Father’s Day Run 5K Run/Walk, Kids Run and Sports Fair is Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 8am at Avila University. The event is presented by the Greater Kansas City Sports Commission and Foundation and is a celebration of fathers and families with all sorts of activities for the whole family! The event honors Kevin Gray, longtime executive director of the Greater Kansas City Sports Commission who battled sarcoma cancer in 2011, and fathers and families throughout our metropolitan area. The beneficiary is the KU Cancer Center — focusing on sarcoma research.

Finisher Medals
All finishers of the 5k and kids run will receive custom finisher medals.
Awards
The top 3 male and female finishers will receive an awards in the following age groups:
14 and under, 15-19 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80+
Top overall male and female will receive an award
Top overall master male and female will receive an award
Kids Sports Fair
Join us again this year for the Kid’s Sports Fair going on during and after the 5K. Take a shot, a swing or make a putt to show your inner Lebron, Hosmer or Tiger. Fun for everyone in the family with lots of food, music and sports for everyone!!
Kids Run
There will be a kids run after the 5K for kids from 1-8 years old! This is a sprint to the finish line and all participants receive a kids run shirt and finishers medal but they must sign up to be a part of the fun!
Race Partner
Proceeds from the event benefit the University of Kansas Cancer Center Sarcoma Initiative. The Sarcoma Initiative brings together the region’s premier multidisciplinary sarcoma team to treat these uncommon and aggressive tumors and benign, soft-tissue diseases. Specialists from adult and pediatric medical, radiation and surgical oncology, pathology, orthopedics and cancer rehabilitation work together to provide the most accurate diagnosis and individualized treatment plans.

Packet Pickup
Packet Pickup is Friday, June 16 from 2-6pm at KC Running Company Store at 4760 W. 135th Street (135th and Roe) in Leawood, KS. You can register in person at packet pickup. You can also register in person or pick up your packet on race morning from 7-8am.
