Description
Baseball fans everywhere are looking forward to the start of the baseball season and local fans are no exception. After not being able to attend games in 2020, local fans are hopeful to get to see their favorite players in person in 2021! We are going to gear up for the upcoming season during this ten week Challenge, starting January 25, and the challenge is for participants to complete is to run or walk a certain number of miles each week that is equal to a particular player’s number! There will be some easy weeks and some tougher weeks but most weeks are 15-20 miles. We will sequence them to let you build your mileage as the weather warms up and will offer a couple of “double headers” where you will be able to average two weeks goals out to balance the mileage. You will be able to enter your miles into the registration system each day to show how you are doing. The miles from the last week will need to be completed by the first pitch on Opening Day. THIS IS NOT A RACE TO SEE WHO CAN REACH THEIR WEEKLY GOAL FIRST, OR WHO CAN GET THE MOST MILES IN EACH WEEK, it is just a fun challenge where everyone who participates is accomplishing the goal of staying active! Participants will receive a great Challenge shirt that they will be able to pick up at the beginning of the Challenge to show off their commitment to the Road to Opening Day Challenge and a cool medal when they complete the Challenge! We will also offer something fun prizes along the way! Join us and get in shape for the first pitch on Opening Day!
