A virtual race set up to support the Harvesters Food Bank and get Kansas City out and moving, sponsored by the Multivac Cares Foundation, the associate directed charitable foundaiton of Mutlivac Inc.

Due to the current global crisis, Harvesters is experiencing a mass increase in demand for their services. Up to 64% more Kansas City residents may need food assistance from Harvesters network over the coming weeks and months. In the first week of the stay at home order, they distributed an additional 400,000 lbs above normal - totaling 1.4 million pounds - to their network of partner agencies. The amount of food Harvesters distributes to their network increases on a weekly basis. Last week, distribution was nearly 500,000 lbs. more than the same week one year ago. Over the last three weeks, Harvesters distributed a total of more than four million lbs. of food. That is one million lbs. more than normal. The most up-to-date distribution numbers can be found at www.harvesters.org/Coronavirus. Getting more food distributed quickly and efficiently is hampered by the fact that volunteers and food drives have dropped off significantly during this time. In a regular year, Harvesters has been able to provide up to 3 meals for $1 dollar. Under the current circumstances that ratio has shrunk to the point that $1 is only able to provide 1 meal. 

100% of registration fees and t-shirt sales go directly to Harvesters. This race can be run, walked, or cycled over a two day period. It can be done by families, by individuals, or by virtual groups looking to make a positive impact in their local community.
