Description
You will have it made it the shade at this fun event celebrating Summer, at our new location at Longview Lake Beach! The Sunglass Run 5K is an event for the whole family with a 5K run/walk and kids run afterwards! All participants will receive a finishers medal and a pair of sunglasses! 5K participants will receive a pair of the popular Goodr sunglasses that are designed to keep you looking cool while being active! Instead of preselecting a style from a limited set of options when you register, you will pick your style from a broader selection at packet pickup on a first come, first served basis. If you don't need sunglasses, you can opt out and save $12. Participants can also add an event shirt if they like for just $8! Charity Partner
The 2024 Charity Partner for the Sunglasses Run is Zero Reasons Why, a community initiative to reduce teen suicide in the area. Learn more about their efforts and how to get involved at www.zeroreasonswhy.org.
Awards
Awards will be presented to the fastest male and female finishers, the fastest masters male and female finishers, and the top three male and female finishers in the following age groups: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79 and 80 and over.
Packet Pickup
Registrants can pick up their packet on Friday, July 12 from 2pm to 6pm at the Running Well Store at 418 SE 291 Highway, Lee’s Summit, MO. You can pick up the packets of friends and family members also, just be sure to let them know. Packets will not be available before 2pm and the lines are usually the longest at the beginning of packet pickup. Leftovers from packet pickup can also be picked up on race morning beginning at 7:00am at the race site.
