The Equalizer Groad Gravel Race rolls out in 2026, Saturday morning, October 24th, from Marthasville Mo!
The Equalizer is many things. Its the new and awesome 49 Mile Equalizer. Its also The USAC sanctioned MISSOURI GRAVEL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP! T-shirts/ 1,2,3rd medals and Winners Jerseys included. Its also a qualifier on the SBR Grand Prix as well as taking place simultaneously with the EQUALIZER Run and Recoverfest.. and yes you have full access to the recovery sessions! (Shower up, hit the Cold Plunge/Instructor led Yoga Stretch)
Event Also includes: Free camping at Wessel Park at the Katy Caboose both nights.⛺ Race Saturday morning. BBQ lunch Saturday afternoon. (OUTLAW burgers IYKYK🤩) Award ceremony. FINISHER MEDALS-new this year! Bring your running friends for the 5 mile, 10 mile or Half Marathon on timed 1 mile loops through town. Hang out and recover with them! Stay for the Music, Cold Plunge, Yoga Stretch sessions and Shakeout ride.

The OLD 50K route will join the 49'r through the full classic Equalizer loop through Warrenton and all of the most awesome and refreshing creek crossings from yesteryear. Choose either the 49'r or the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP ROUTE which is the same 49 miles and dont worry, it still hits the Kersten Krusher 10 miles from the finish, but only 1 lap of that this year.
ALL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP CONTENDERS will race the Official State Championship 49 mile course. Missouri State Champion Winners Jersey Included for categoy winners. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place podiums and medals and everything else the EQUALIZER offers is available to both 49'r and STC registrants.
State Championship Contenders....You MUST have a current USAC ANNUAL licence AND be a resident of Missouri.
You do not need any licence to race the 49'r. Your one day USAC licence is covered within the registration costs so you can just show up and ride although we will need the 1 Day USAC Form filled out..Easy.
USAC points are not required or needed to register for a certain State Championship Gravel category.
Regardless of your choice, all get the opportunity to hammer the fast road sections peppered by limestone gravel through the rolling countryside of Marthasville and Warrenton through the Aid stations and checkpoints back into racers village.
State Championship category winners will get The Roy Doskal Realty Equalizer State Championship Jersey and Mo State Medals. Also Custom medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place at the Podium Ceremony in the Age Group categories.
The Equalizer is fast enough for the pavement pounder, yet technical enough for the gravel grinders, and most importanter.. Fun and safe for everyone. Aid station for both distances at mile 33. (water/ice/sports drink) Bring your sag bag if you need food you cant haul. We will have it ready for you there. Trailing/roaming sag as well.
Post race food, snacks, beverages, music, podiums, pics, and FINISHERS MEDAL! Award Ceremony for the 49'r and STC course also have awards for the Top 3 in all A.G.10yr increments.
New this year, There is a RUN & RECOVERFEST! After your race, you are encouraged to stay and Cold Plunge, Yoga Stretch, and all of the other activities at The EQUALIZER RUN & RECOVERFEST! Course Details
The course takes you through roads that look untouched by time. Into the beautiful and "beastiful" rolling hills of Warren county highland farm country. Gravel consistency ranges from fast hard packed crushed limestone, to loose gravel, to big brown Charette Creek river valley rock, to buttery smooth asphalt with 4 creek crossings and dirt.
The official routes are linked below on Strava ready for download to your device.. Also: Go have a Reconn Ride! Its beautiful out there.. Turns will be marked by orange arrows on the road roadside with directional signage. Also several corner marshalls present.

Food and Drink
KT Caboose onsite early race morning with discounted food and drink specials. Hamburgers, Veggie burgers, Chips, Snacks, Waters, Colas, on Saturday afternoon post race waiting for you. We are working on sponsors for other food and drink options as well and will list here when that day comes. Coffee please.
The EQUALIZER RUN & RECOVERFEST
Bring your friends who Run! They Start 1/2 hour after you at 8:00am. They can do the 5 Mile, 10 mile or Half Marathon and stick around for the Recovery Fest which includes: Sauna Van, Cold Plunge, Instructor Led Recovery Yoga Session, Lunch, Camping and more.
Camping and Lodging
Primitive camping is available for free at the KT Caboose and in Wessel Park Saturday night. (the field next to the Marthasville Katy Trail head/State Park) Bathrooms and showers are available literally across the street at the Ballfields. There are several rentals in Marthasville and lots of standard hotel options in neaby Washington Mo. Many STR & B&B's in the wine country of nearby Augusta.
Packet Pick Up
You can pick up your packet with your Race number, T-shirt and swag Thursday Oct 22nd at SBR Bikes and Brews in Chesterfield valley from 3-6. OR race morning in Racers Village 6-7:15am. Racers Village is at the Marthasville City Park Pavillion/Start-Finish line. (see map below)

USAC FAQ
The Equalizer is a USAC Sanctioned and Officiated event. That sounds Official! Indeed it is.. Here are some F.A.Q. answers.
1. If you do NOT have an ANNUAL USAC Licence, You will need a 1 day licence to participate. Not to worry, we will have them for you to fill out at packet pick up. and it costs you nothing.
2. Sho Me Gravel Series Participants will need to also fill out a Waiver at packet pick up as well. We will have Ink pens at the ready.
3. Aerobars are NOT allowed at the event, Centerline rule in effect.
4. We will do categorical rolling wave starts on 1 minute intervals starting at 7:30 with Mens 123.
5. State Championship contenders are not allowed to work/ride with any other categories or groups other than their own Gender.
6. There is a 15 minute protest period after results are posted and before result finalization. The onsite USAC Chief Judge will resolve any disputes.
7. USAC points are NOT in effect as Gravel is still somewhat unregulated due to newness. You can choose any open category, provided that you meet the gender and age requirements if choosing a Masters category.
