Description

Hunting Through History | Soulard 9/15/22 | 6PM
A Running Scavenger Hunt through one of St. Louis’ most historic (and haunted!) neighborhoods.

Join us for this unique way to get your miles in, learn about the history and architecture of the Soulard neighborhood, and earn some pretty fun GO! St. Louis swag, too!

We will meet at Soulard Farmers Market (plaza at 8th and Lafayette) for instructions. Participants (or teams if you want to bring a friend!) will be given a list of items to locate within the boundaries of Lafayette and Lynch, and from 7th to 12th.  Registered participants will receive the search list at the start of the run, and will have 75 minutes to search.  There will also be extra credit items on the list!  (This will not be a guided run.)

After the hunt is over, join us for prizes and conversation at a nearby restaurant!

Meeting location: S 9th Street and Lafayette Ave

Please bring:  Phone/camera for pictures, headlamp and flashing light/reflective gear

The Ghost Town of Times Beach | Eureka 10/1/22 | 8AM
From Resort to Wrecked to Repaired - Times Beach from Resort to Reparations

Times Beach is considered to be one of the worst environmental disasters in our nation’s history - but do you know the whole story? Join us at Route 66 State Park in Eureka, the former Times Beach site, for a guided run to learn about its evolution from resort town to state park, and the very dark chapters in-between.

The Routes: 6 mile route OR 3 mile route

Relocated Cemetery Tour | Benton Park | 10/13/22 6:30PM
Wait, this used to be a cemetery?

Meeting Location:  Benton Park - meet on the corner of Missouri and Arsenal

Come along with us as we run down urban streets and look at where cemeteries used to be - and discover what's living there now.  We will touch on other topics like body-snatchers, research, why cemeteries needed to be moved, how much money people were paid to move bodies, and what was left behind in the "move".  Participants are urged to bring headlamps, flashing lights/reflective gear.
