Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood — patients battling cancer, people impacted by traumatic accidents and disasters, individuals experiencing emergencies in childbirth, and more. Blood products serve as a critical, irreplaceable part of our nation’s healthcare infrastructure.
A gift to support Blood Services will help ensure a safe and reliable blood supply is available for patients in need, helping to save lives. Every day the Red Cross must collect nearly 3,000 platelets and about 12,500 blood donations to ensure there is enough blood on the shelves.
