Description

We have an important update regarding your upcoming Lou Fusz Subaru St. Louis Triathlon.
For the first time in our event's 11-year history, the water quality test did not meet the State of Missouri's standards for safe swimming. The health and safety of our athletes, volunteers, and staff will always be our top priority. As a result, we must cancel the swim portion of this year's event.

While we are disappointed, we know how much time and effort you've put into preparing for race day. We are grateful to be able to implement our contingency plan and still provide a great racing experience. This year's event will be conducted as a bike/run race.

Updated Race Schedule

Transition will still close promptly at 6:30 AM. Please have all of your gear set up before then.
After transition closes, all athletes should report to the designated start chute outside the transition area.

To help reduce congestion on the bike course, Sprint athletes will start first, followed by Olympic athletes. Athletes will be released in a staggered, chip-timed start, with a few competitors beginning every few seconds.

Your official race time will not begin until you cross the timing mat at the start line, so there is no disadvantage based on where you line up.

To help create the safest and smoothest bike course possible, we ask that you self-seed according to your expected average bike speed. Please line up in the appropriate corral based on the pace signs posted at the start.

The Aquathlon and Duathlon will begin after the bike/run athletes have started, and the 6K will begin after the Aquathlon and Duathlon.
Everything else about the event—including the bike and run courses—remains unchanged.

We understand this is disappointing news, especially since this is the first time we've had to make this change in the history of the St. Louis Triathlon. Unfortunately, water quality is something we cannot control, and we appreciate your understanding as we make the safest decision for everyone involved. Thank you for your flexibility, your support, and for being part of the St. Louis Triathlon community. We look forward to seeing you on race morning and putting on a fantastic event together.

See you at the starting line!
