The Island Paddle Fest is a 5.5-mile kayak, canoe, and paddleboard race around "The Island" in historic Columbus, Mississippi. The race will begin and end at the downtown Columbus Riverwalk. Paddlers will be followed by a Party Pontoon and will be met on shore with music, food, and raffle prizes. Registrants are also invited to a pre-paddle party to be held the night before the race in downtown Columbus, MS. Raffle tickets for an overnight stay at Bear Creek Lakes in AL will be sold at the pre-paddle party for $5.

Wanna come, but need a place to hang your life vest? This year we've partnered with the brand new Holiday Inn Express to provide all participants with a special group rate for stay.

We've also added two new racing categories for extra excitement. If you're very competitive, we've created a separate category for racing kayaks, and if you're just in it for the fun, we now have a fun paddle!

Men's and Women's Kayak: $40

Men's and Women's Racing Kayaks: $40

Men's and Women's Canoe: $40

Men's and Women's Paddleboard: $40

Tandem Paddle: $40 per registrant

Fun Paddle - No Trophy: $20

Registration in all categories comes with a guaranteed t-shirt for those who register by May 19th. T-shirts will be for sale on-site at $10 each. Check-in begins at 7 a.m. on June 2nd, 2018 and races will begin at 8 a.m.

All proceeds benefit the Lowndes County Imagination Library, a nonprofit affiliate of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. Parents can sign children up to receive a FREE book every month from birth to five years old. Studies show that early exposure to age-appropriate books and reading with parents can make a significant impact on a child's early literacy skills. Help us give our children the literacy jumpstart they deserve by signing up to race with us towards Kindergarten Readiness!

*Sponsored By: International Paper, Bear Creek Lake Development Authority, Swoope Insurance, Munson and Brothers, Allegro Family Clinics, Boardtown Bikes of Starkville, Bank of Commerce, Fast Dog Printing, MUW Stark Recreation, Zachary's of Columbus, Musselwhites, Waukaway, and Bliss Yoga Studio.

**Please note this is a Bring Your Own Boat event, so don't forget to bring your canoe, kayak, or paddleboard! Life vest required to race. Children under 18 must have an adult sign a waiver to ride alone.*
