Description

The Pine Belt Strong 4 Mile Run/2Mile March

Four miles… one mile for each person who was tragically killed during the Jan. 21 tornado that devastated the Pine Belt.

On January 21, 2017, an EF3 tornado tore through the Pine Belt, killing four people and injuring dozens more.  The tornado ripped a 31-mile path across the region and damaged or destroyed more than 1,131 homes, 73 businesses, and 24 government businesses.  In addition, many churches and William Carey University were badly damaged.

This is a disaster relief event coordinated by The Greater PineBelt Foundation and The Pinebelt Pacers Running Club.  We will show “Unity in the Community” by bringing together everyone in Pine Belt Region including: Forrest, Lamar, Lauderdale, and Perry Counties where the disaster struck.

We invite all nonprofit organizations who serve those during disasters to set up a booth and showcase your services.  Each organization will appreciate any donations.

Food will be provided by Mugshots, Keg & Barrel, Newks, & Crescent City Grill We will ask for donations to go to the Pine Belt Disaster Fund at the Pine Belt Community Foundation.

Music Provided by Southbound Cresent.
