Help Noah's Legacy Run, Walk, or Skate On!
You can help Noah's legacy live on as a sponsor, skater, runner, walker, volunteer, or donor. However you choose to participate, we're glad you're a part of Noah's Gift 5K.
Noah's Gift is dedicated to bringing joy into the lives of young people, as Noah brought joy to the lives of so many. Noah's Gift was created to inspire and reward deserving young people with the gift of an extraordinary experience that was of interest to 16-year-old Noah Costa at the time of his death. His interests were as wide-ranging and fun as his personality: playing hockey, traveling, hiking, water sports, skydiving, and much more. Noah's Gift makes grants to deserving teenagers to pursue extraordinary experiences. These grants are made possible through sponsors and participants of our annual fundraiser, Noah's Gift 5K Run-Walk-Skate held in Noah's memory.
For the 2021 race, there are both in-person (see 5K course - click here) and virtual event options (run anywhere) available.
The virtual race option is for those who are not able to participate in person. Separate results will be provided for virtual runners and on site participants. Results for virtual race participants are for recognition only. You can download the RaceJoy App (click here) to automatically upload your results when you finish the distance or manually post your results. Virtual participants not using the app will be on the honor system. They can manually update their time and receive a shirt. Be sure to share photos of your course, and running companions; two and four legs. See "How to upload your photos" (click here). For additional information on virtual events, please see our "Virtual FAQ" below.
Q: Do I have to be in a certain city/state to do this event?
A: Anyone can do the VIRTUAL Noah's Gift 5K Run/Skate wherever you are, on your time between Saturday September 19th and Saturday September 25th,. This is great way for families and friends to stay active together, even if you don't live close to each other. However, if you are registered for Noah Gift 5k Run / Skate In Person event, you will need to toe the "Start Line" at 180 West Commerce St in Hernando, MS., on September 25th @ 800 AM.
Q: Do I have to run or can I walk?
A: You can run, walk, Skate.. as long as you are purposefully moving and logging miles, it counts.
Q: Do I have to complete the 5K Virtual distance at one time?
A: Yes, since this is a "timed" event, you will need to complete the full 5k during one activity ... not multiple combined activities.
Q: Do I have to put in my miles outside?
A: Preferably you will be able to go outside so you can use our Live GPS tracking app, RaceJoy. See RaceJoy "How To" (click here). but if you need to complete your miles inside (on a treadmill, at the gym, etc.) that will be possible with the alternate reporting option.
Q: How do I record my miles/time?
A: The easiest and best way will be to utilize the RaceJoy app ... you simply hit start on the app and it will register your time in results when you complete the 5K distance. But, if you are unable to carry your phone; will be in a location with poor cell service; or need to complete your miles inside or on a treadmill, then there will be alternate ways to report your time. You can upload directly to the RunSignUp system. Just go to the Results Tab (click here) on this webpage and choose "Submit Virtual Results". Virtual results will be presented similar to in person results, but for recognition only. There are no awards for virtual events.
