18th Annual HomeRun for Habitat 5K, Kids Dash & Fall Fest
For 18 years, the HomeRun for Habitat has brought our community together to make a lasting difference. More than 10,000 participants have helped raise over $500,000 for the Hernando DeSoto Chapter of Habitat for Humanity.
This year’s event will be hosted at the acclaimed Silo Square mixed-use development, located across from Snowden Grove Park in Southaven. Participants and families are invited to enjoy the HomeRun for Habitat 5K, Kids Dash, and Fall Fest.
Our goal is to raise $60,000—enough to help build one home for a deserving DeSoto County family.
Habitat for Humanity believes everyone deserves a decent, affordable place to live. The Hernando DeSoto affiliate selects qualified families through an application process. Future homeowners contribute “sweat equity” by helping build their homes and commit to an affordable 20-year, zero-interest mortgage.
To date, the local affiliate has helped 32 families achieve the dream of homeownership—16 of those homes were made possible through the HomeRun for Habitat.

The HomeRun for Habitat 5k is proud to announce the return to the popular new Silo Square community. This will be the perfect location to host the Family Fall Fest and all of our race day festivities!
Fall Fest
One of the most loved aspects of our annual event is the FallFest / Kids Zone.
Come at 2:30 and enjoy fun activities like face painting, rock climbing wall, monster inflatables, a mechanical bull and more...

Entertainment, Food & Beverages, & Post Race Party
HomeRun for Habitat will feature LIVE entertainment from local musicians, great food and beverage options, and a fun Silo Square shopping, strolling experience.
Join us right after the race at the newly opened Lucky Dog Music Hall & Bar (near the clock tower) for live music and awards presentations!
Team Competition

All DeSoto County High Schools are invited to compete for the Dave Bowden Travelling Trophy awarded to the WINNING School that raises the most for Habitat each year. First, Second, and Third place trophies will be presented as well. All students who participate will receive a race t-shirt and finisher medal.
