Join us for the 2025 HomeRun for Habitat 5k at Silo Square in Southaven, MS.
To date more than 10,000 participants have raised over $500,000 for the local Hernando
DeSoto Chapter of Habitat for Humanity. The acclaimed Silo Square mixed-use development, across from the popular Snowden Grove Park in Southaven, will host the 17th Annual HomeRun For Habitat 5k, Kids Dash, and Fall Fest.
The success of the HomeRun for Habitat 5k depends on community participation and sponsorship. Habitat for Humanity needs your help. Once again, our goal is to raise $60,000 to help build ONE HOME in DeSoto County, MS. Habitat for Humanity’s vision is a world where everyone has a decent affordable place to live. The Hernando DeSoto affiliate selects deserving families from a pool of applicants to be awarded a home. Recipients participate in the construction of their future home and commit to pay a 20 year, 0% interest mortgage.
In all, the Hernando DeSoto affiliate has helped 31 families, 15 as a direct result of the HomeRun for Habitat.

The HomeRun for Habitat 5k is proud to announce the return to the popular new Silo Square community. This will be the perfect location to host the Family Fall Fest and all of our race day festivities!
Fall Fest
One of the most loved aspects of our annual event is the FallFest / Kids Zone.
Come at 2:30 and enjoy fun activities like face painting, rock climbing wall, monster inflatables, a mechanical bull and more...
Special thanks to volunteers and support from Getwell Church and Brown Missionary Baptist Church for creating a fun event for the entire family.
Entertainment, Food & Beverages, & Post Race Party
HomeRun for Habitat will feature LIVE entertainment from local musicians, great food and beverage options, and a fun Silo Square shopping, strolling experience.
Join us right after the race at the newly opened Lucky Dog Music Hall & Bar (near the clock tower) for live music and awards presentations!
Team Competition

All DeSoto County High Schools are invited to compete for the Dave Bowden Travelling Trophy awarded to the WINNING School that raises the most for Habitat each year. First, Second, and Third place trophies will be presented as well. All students who participate will receive a race t-shirt and finisher medal. For every (3) entrants using your unique referral link in your email confirmation, you will get a $5 refund on your race registration! Only registrations made through your personal referral link will be credited. No adjustments will be made. Add on and store purchases not included.
