Description
Kim Greene is a founder and owner of Svalinn, a company based in Livingston, MT that breeds, raises and trains world-class family protection dogs. The company was launched in 2005 in Nairobi, Kenya where Kim lived with her family.
Kim met her husband, a combat veteran, in Kabul in 2003. Together, they have enjoyed raising twin sons between the African bush and some of the best mountain towns in the US.
Prior to launching the company in Africa, Kim was a policy advisor supporting President Hamid Karzai in Afghanistan. Kim served in a leadership role with the United Nations and the Afghan Government on reintegration of ex- combatants. Kim led U.S. Congressional delegations to Cuba for three years. She is a graduate of Princeton University with a M.A. in public policy and of Hamilton College with a B.A. in international relations.
Kim currently serves as a COMMIT Foundation board member and is also the Montana coordinator for Girls Riding Together (GRiT), a national initiative through NICA to get more female student athletes on mountain bikes.
Outside of her family, Kim’s personal passions are mountain biking, hiking and alpine skiing. Most memorable mountain bike races to date include the ABSA Cape Epic in South Africa (8-days); The Rift Valley Odyssey in Kenya (4-days), and the Leadville Trail 100 MTB in Colorado.
