Description
Montana Running Company is hosting the 7th Annual Beaverhead Marathon in Dillon, Montana on May 11, 2024.
The course will be the same as the last six years. The Full Marathon starts at Horse Prairie Camp Ground at Clark Canyon Reservoir near the site of Lewis & Clarks Camp Fortunate with the Tendoy Mountains and Lima Peaks in the background. Participants will run on the 45th Parallel and then follow downstream along the Beaverhead River a Blue Ribbon Trout Stream past geological features like the Pipe Organ, Daly Spur, and Rattlesnake Cliffs. Runners will run past many historic landmarks including the site where gold was discovered on Grasshopper Creek in 1862. The Half Marathon starts along the Beaverhead River near the Old Montaqua plant. After Barrett’s Park runners will run through rich agriculture land with views of the Pioneer, Blacktail, Sweetwater, Highland and Tobacco Root Mountains. The views in Beaverhead County are amazing! Both races follow the same course and end in Downtown Dillon, Montana at Beaverhead Brewing Company. Each participant will receive a hat, finisher medal, a burger, drink and chips after the race. Beaverhead Brewing Company will offer one complimentary beer to all runners.
Packet Pick-up is at Sweetwater Coffee- May 10, 2024 at 5-7PM. Day of race Packet Pick-up- May 11, 2024 at 7AM
Start of the Full Marathon- May 11, 2024 at 9AM. Bus will leaves at 8AM from Beaverhead Brewing Company. Start of Full Marathon is at Horse Prairie Campground at Clark Canyon Reservoir. Elevation is 5,578 feet. There a a few little hills. 338 feet of elevation lose to finish line.
Start of Half Marathon- May 11, 2024 at 10AM. Bus will leaves at 9AM from Beaverhead Brewing Company. Start of Half Marathon is at Old Montaqua on Highway 91 South. Elevation is 5,249 feet. There are no hills. 9 feet of elevation lose to finish line.
Aid Stations- 10- We are fueled by Hammer Nutrition.
Finish Line is at Beaverhead Brewing Company 218 S. Montana St. Dillon, Montana. Elevation is 5,240 feet.
We do not have a course map, we are working on one.
The course is on both dirt and pavement, 1/3 dirt and 2/3 pavement.
We have a "NO DOG" policy on the course.
We do allow and encourage strollers.
WE HAVE A "NO REFUND" POLICY.
Each participant will receive a race bag with hat, stickers, Hammer Nutrition and other sponsor goodies. Participants that finish the race will receive a finisher medal.
