Thank you for your interest in the 2023 24 Hour Impact Montana Warrior Ruck that is being held Saturday, June 3rd in Helena at Centennial Park near Carroll College! This event is unlike any other in Montana with the testing of personal and team communication, physical, mental, and leadership skills. The team aspect allows for developing camaraderie between all participants. It is encouraged that teams are built with peers to help push each other and break through old barriers and the individual ruck marcher competition supports self determination, self motivation, self reflection, and breaking through personal barriers.

The team competition will consist of a minimum of 2 person teams and no more than 6 person teams. 1 or more teammates will walk around a marked course at Centennial Park and complete as many laps as possible within 24 hours. Only 1 person per team will count for the entire team for 1 lap. Only 1 person from the team needs to walk the course at a time however, the entire team is permitted to walk at the same time. Teams are allowed to stop and restart the race anytime (team does not need to walk continuously the entire 24 hours). A person must complete an entire lap before switching out with their teammate unless there is an injury requiring a substitution.

All teams and individual marchers will start and finish at the same time. The start time for the race will be at 10 AM on Saturday, June 3rd and the finish time for the race will be at 10 AM on Sunday, June 4th. We will hold an award ceremony immediately after the race is completed.

Males on competitive teams or individual marchers will carry a 35lbs dry weight rucksack/ backpack/ assault pack. Females on competitive teams or individual marchers will carry a 25lbs dry weight rucksack/ backpack/ assault pack. Individual team members who are identified as the designated lap walker will wear the rucksack/ backpack/ assault pack the entire time while completing the lap. Weighted ruck frames are also permitted. Non-competitive teams and individual marchers are encouraged to carry the same weight as competitive teams but it is not a requirement.

Competitive teams are NOT allowed to substitute weighted vests for a rucksack/ backpack/ assault pack. Removing weight from the rucksack/ backpack/ assault pack after the start of the ruck will result in competitive team disqualification.

We have three categories: 1. Competitive teams consisting of 2 to 6 individuals (male or female). 2. Non-competitive teams consisting of 2 to 6 individuals (male or female). 3. Individual marchers. The winning team of the Competitive category will be awarded the 24 hour Montana Warrior Ruck flag to keep for a year and medals will be handed out to competitive teams for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. The winning individual marchers will receive a medal for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. The course will be the same length for the Non-competitive teams and will offer challenges which will build and encourage teamwork. There are no medals or awards for non-competitive but each marcher will receive race swag bags.

The 24 hour Impact Montana Warrior Ruck is meant to raise awareness for Montana's veterans, service members, first responders, and their families and show support for our warriors. The weight that they carry every day in service and after service is/ was a heavy load to bare and this is our way of saying thank you!

Light the Way https://givebutter.com/lighttheway
Light the Way is an opportunity to donate and honor all warriors: the men and women, past and present, who have served. You can support and honor these warriors by sponsoring a name of a service member, veteran, firefighter, law enforcement officer, or EMS professional during the Montana Warrior Ruck 2023. The name will be attached to an illuminated bag around a 1-mile track after sundown. The luminaries will then Light the Way for participants and help to motivate them during the most challenging portion of the race.

Our goal is to illuminate 200 bags. Each bag will cost $25, totaling $5,000, all raised for Montana's warriors. All donations will support Impact Montana's programming. Impact Montana's mission is to help service members, veterans, first responders, and their families thrive. All funds will stay in Montana and support our warriors. Please help us to reach our goal by sponsoring a name to help Light the Way for Montana's warriors. All donations are welcome.
