***We will offer programming at Franklin Elementary and C.S Porter Middle School with registration through Missoula Parks and Recreation beginning December 17th.***
Strength Training: Thursdays from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m., Feb 8 - Mar 14 at MontanaFit gym. This female-centered and welcoming environment introduces youth to the gym and empowers them to pick up weights and to challenge themselves to do hard things. GRM follows the Brand X Method approach to youth strength training. Created in 1999, the foundation of the Brand X Method programming is to do what’s best for kids by improving their ability to interact with any environment. This means building physical competence, confidence, and motivation so that youth feel the freedom and fearlessness to tackle all physical tasks throughout life. Making youth good movers through strength training will allow them to feel confident in themselves and therefore motivated to do movement throughout the rest of their lives. Open to all schools, including homeschool.
Running at YMCA - Mondays, Feb 5 - March 11, 4:30 - 6 p.m. at the Missoula YMCA. This session focuses on improving running endurance, strength, and overall fitness through games, sprinting and pacing drills, plyometric strength circuits, goal setting, and life skills workshops. Open to all schools, including homeschool.
Franklin Elementary - Wednesdays, February 7 - March 13, immediately following school until 5 p.m. This session focuses on improving running endurance, strength, and overall fitness through games, sprinting and pacing drills, plyometric strength circuits, goal setting, and life skills workshops.
