Due to the still evolving Coronavirus pandemic and based on input from our participants, volunteers, staff, and board of directors, Run Wild Missoula has made the decision to CANCEL the 2020 Pengelly Double Dip & Bob Hayes Single Dip races. We do not believe that we can, at this point in time, safely insure the health of our participants, volunteers, staff and the larger Missoula community.
You must choose from one of the following options by 11:59 PM (Mountain Time) on Friday, July 10, 2020. All selections must be made through RunSignUp; and, all selections are final. (Before making your selection, we suggest that you first log into your RunSignUp account.)
Optional donations that were made to the Friends Of The “M” Trail will be forwarded on to the University of Montana Foundation for the upcoming “M” Trail project.
If you do not make a selection by the deadline, your entry fees will be considered a donation to Run Wild Missoula.
A steep, mountain half marathon (Double Dip) or 10K (Single Dip) starting in Missoula's university district before heading up nearby Mount Sentinel. The big climbs are followed by quad-busting descents down the mountain and back to the University of Montana campus. The Double Dip is capped at 250 runners - sign up early or you'll miss out on this classic Missoula trail race.

This is a cupless event. In order to cut down on waste, Run Wild Missoula is working on moving all of our races to cupless events; with the exception of the Missoula Marathon.
What does this mean for you? If you would like to take advantage of water, recovery drinks, or any other fluids we may have in the start/finish area or on course, please plan on bringing a personal cup/water bottle/hydration device to use.
All runners will have the option to take a HydraPak Speed Cup. You can fill this cup at aid stations and finish line. The cup is super lightweight, collapsible and easy to carry. You may also fill you own hydration device (handheld, waist pack, bladder, etc.) at the aid stations.
Please be aware that Run Wild Missoula still has a large inventory of single use paper cups and other single use products that we are continuing to work through - don't be caught off guard if those products occasionally show up at events. Thank you for understanding.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the guidelines of the CDC and local and state health officials, and the feedback from the permitting agencies (U.S. Forest Service and City of Missoula Parks & Recreation), we will not be able to conduct the 2020 Pengelly Double Dip and Bob Hayes Single Dip on Saturday, June 6th.
After carefully considering options and working with the U.S. Forest Service, Missoula Parks and Recreation, and the University of Montana, the 2020 races will be postponed to Saturday, August 15th. As runners ourselves, we understand the disappointment this will cause to our participants, as well as the impact this has on our sponsors.
