What is the Thanksgiving 5K?
The Thanksgiving Day 5K is an annual, family-friendly, run/walk fundraiser. The goal of the 5K is to raise awareness about Martha’s Village and Kitchen’s services and to provide funds to support our mission to end hunger and homelessness in the Coachella Valley. Over 4,000 people attend the event annually including participants, spectators, and volunteers.
Where is the event being held?
The Thanksgiving Day 5K is held on Thanksgiving Morning each year on El Paseo in Palm Desert.
What is the Race Course Map?
How much is registration?
Pre-Registration for Adults is $45 and for Children (under 7 and younger) is $35. On the day of the event, adults are $55 and youth $45.
How can I register?
Online registration is strongly recommended. In-Person Registration can also be completed at either of the two pre-event registration/packet pickup days to be determined.
How will I receive my official race day event gear?
All official event gear and merchandise can be picked up at either of the two packet pickup days.
Are there volunteer opportunities?
Yes! We have many in-person opportunities to support the event. Please visit http://vhub.at/1CMY2SJ to sign up.
Can I mail in my registration?
Yes, however, it MUST BE RECEIVED at Martha’s Village no later than Friday, November 11, 2022. Please make a check payable to “Martha’s Village & Kitchen” and include on a separate piece of paper the information for each person you’re registering: the first and last name, email address, phone number, and desired shirt size.
Can I purchase a shirt without registration?
On race day, there may be additional shirts available for purchase.
What time does the event start?
The event will start at 8:00 am. Updates will be sent out if anything changes with the time.
Will the event be timed and/or will we provide medals and/or awards for top finishers?
This year the event will be timed.
Is there a minimum amount participants must raise in order to participate?
Fundraising is highly encouraged and deeply appreciated but not mandatory. All donations support programs and services that help impoverished and homeless individuals and families in the Coachella Valley.
Can I get a refund?
Martha's Village & Kitchen is a 501(c)3 supported with donations, like those raised in this event. We will not issue refunds due to the nature of this fundraising event. Thank you for your generous support!
How are funds raised from the Thanksgiving 5K used?
All funds raised during this event, go to support Martha's Village & Kitchen's programs and services that help impoverished and homeless individuals and families in the Coachella Valley. 100% stays in the Coachella Valley.
Is this donation tax-deductible?
Martha's Village and Kitchen is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization, and your donation is tax-deductible within the guidelines of U.S. law. To claim a donation as a deduction on your U.S. taxes, please keep your email donation receipt as your official record. We'll send the email donation receipt to you upon the successful completion of your donation.
