For the past several years, the Mighty Moose - alongside Kicks for Cancer - has invested in the MiDe Study research program, helping to develop a new ovarian cancer early detection test using microRNA technology. Ovarian cancer continues to have the highest mortality rate of all female reproductive cancers, primarily due to late-stage diagnosis.
This year, our investment reaches a turning point marking our shift from making a test to implementing a testing program.
Your 2026 donations will help fund the ORBIT Study led by Dr. Kevin Elias in partnership with Cleveland Clinic and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. ORBIT is the first clinical study related to doctors and patients utilizing the OVAinform test (which incorporates the microRNA ovarian cancer early detection technology).
This is a bridge between years of research and a future where ovarian cancer is caught earlier, treated sooner, and eventually screened for as part of routine women's healthcare.
