The main difference between a virtual event and an in-person event in Arizona is that a virtual event can be completed from anywhere, while an in-person race requires participants to physically be at the event location on the event date. In a virtual event, participants can complete any form of intentional movement, at their own pace and on their own schedule, while an in-person race follows a set course and schedule. Virtual Participants have their event swag and finisher medal mailed to them for an added fee.
Registration for the in-person event is open to all. You can register for the Arizona event on here. Simply select whether you'd like to participate in-person or virtually, the event you want to participate in (2 Mile Walk, 5K, or Relax), fill out the registration form, and submit your information.
All proceeds from the Arizona event for migraine go towards funding migraine research, education, and advocacy efforts. By participating in the race, you are helping to raise awareness of the impact of migraine and supporting the efforts to find better treatments and a cure for this debilitating condition.
Funds raised from the Arizona event are donated to the Mayo Clinic Arizona, Barrow Neurological Institute at Phoenix Children's Hospital and Lewis Headache Center at Barrow Neurological Institute Fellowship programs to support training for providers in the field of headache medicine and to support local migraine & headache disease research in the Phoenix Area. Funds are also used to support Miles for Migraine programming. By participating in the event, you are helping to raise awareness of the impact of migraine and supporting the efforts to find better treatments and a cure for this debilitating disease.
The prizes available for fundraising for the event in Arizona vary depending on the amount raised. You can find more information on our Fundraising page. The more you raise, the more you can earn, including things like socks, hats and more.
Strollers are no problem at our Arizona event. We just ask that whether you are running or walking, you start toward the back of your group to reduce chances of people tripping or trying to get around you. For out and back courses, please be aware of staying to the right side of the path to keep the path open for people coming from the opposite direction.
Event Morning -
Kiwanis Park starting at 9:00am
We love dogs, honest. We do ask that you leave them home for this event though. If everyone brought their dog, it would just be too much for the event and could be overwhelming for attendees. Thank you for understanding.

Anyone can pick up your packet on your behalf.
Three options: 1) Come to packet pick up the day before the event and get your shirt. 2) If you have a friend going to the event, they could pick up your shirt for you at packet pick up the day before the event or at the event. 3) We can ship it to you for an added fee. Just reach out to derek@milesformigraine.org and he'll help you with this.
You will receive an email to claim your selected prizes about 90 days after the event. This gives you a little extra time after the walk/run/relax event to share more with your friends and family about the event and continuing your fundraising efforts. Prizes will then be mailed to you after you complete the form.
