100K Relay Information

HOW DO WE SIGN UP A TEAM?
Signing up a team is easy. The first member of each team will register and create the team name. Each team member thereafter will sign up and JOIN the team. Team members are signing up similar to individuals, except they will be on a team. The reason we do this is there is a specific cost per participant. Each relay participant is also scored as an individual in the 10k results with individual awards. For example if you run the fastest 10k net split in the relay, you will be awarded 1st place. If you are running more than one leg your first leg is counted for overall individual awards.

RELAY INFORMATION

  • Saturday, March 20, 2021
  • A Relay Team can have anywhere from 2 to 10 runners.
  • Each loop is a 10K.
  • Each relay team member must run at least one 10K Loop.
  • Starts at 7:30am - 1st runners for each team must check in at registration to give bib number, then line up at the start line.
  • One team member is responsible for picking up the team's packet.  The packet will include all team members bibs, shirts, camping passes, team baton, and any add on times.

TIMING & AID STATIONS

  • Each team member will receive their own individual bib.  You must wear your bib to get your personal time.
  • Each team will get a Relay Baton.  This baton is your team's timing chip.  Participants must wear their race bib and carry the team baton and hand it off to the next participant.  Your baton must cross the checkpoint and finish line.  If you lose your baton, you are disqualified.
  • You can run in ANY ORDER you choose, but you must wear your bib and have your baton.
  • Aid Stations – There is one aid station around the half way point with Water, Gatorade, Gels and Bananas. The 2nd Aid Station would be the event camp site.

RELAY RULES

1. There is no specific order your team has to run, however the first person from each team will need to check in your team before the race start.
2. Each team has a baton, you must complete the race with your baton.
3. Each runner's first leg will count toward their overall 10K time.  For example if you are running 2 legs of the relay, legs 1 and 6, your first leg will be the one that counts toward the 10K overall results (even if 6 is faster).
4. Each runner must run with a chipped bib and their team's baton.
5. Handicaps will be added to the team's times throughout the day.  The lower the handicap, the more time off the team will receive at the end.  For example 89 means 89% of the overall time:).
6. Any changes to your team must be submitted prior to the race or your team is subject to DQ.
