What is a FUNRUN?
Largest Student Lead Fundraiser of the YEAR!
Each year the entire school participates in an event where every student runs, jogs, or walks a racecourse we build on the lower lawn just for the day! The FUNRUN is a great way to get our students involved in fundraising for their school and celebrate health and fitness.
As the major stakeholders in the programs and activities the PTA funds, getting the students involved in fundraising is an integral part of investing in their own education. Some schools use a fundraising service to run their FUNRUN, taking as much as 50% of the donations as a fee. Montemalaga did not what our kids hard work to go to a corporation and instead decided to keep our fundraising in-house. This year, we will continue to use the Givesignup platform to give every student the opportunity to be a fundraising ambassador for their school! Friends and family can donate to their student's fundraising page and motivate them to keep moving for health and fitness.
The FUNRUN is an all-day event with staggered start times for the grade levels. Coach Kristen and electriKIDS has been warming up our students before each race for many years and we are so excited to have her back again this year! Parents are welcome and encouraged to join and cheer on their students. After each race, students stay to cheer on the next group of runners. This year we will have a closing ceremony to award prizes to the highest individual fundraiser for each grade. Prizes are awarded and we will draw the raffle ticket for the new Nintendo Switch.

TK-2: Recess 10a-10:20a, Warm-up 10:30a-10:40a, Run 10:40a-11a, Closing Ceremonies 11:30a-11:45
3rd-5th: Recess 10:20a-10:40a, Warm-up 10:50a-11a, Run 11a-11:30a, Closing Ceremonies 11:30a-11:45a
Dismissal times remain the same for Monday
